Nottingham Forest Lose Appeal Against £750,000 FA Fine Over VAR Criticism
Posted : 10 March 2025
Nottingham Forest's appeal against a £750,000 fine for their social media criticism of VAR official Stuart Attwell has been rejected by the Football Association.
The club was penalized for questioning Attwell’s integrity following a controversial 2-0 defeat to Everton in April 2024, with the FA deeming the post a serious offense that went viral.
Despite arguing that the fine was excessive, Forest's appeal was dismissed, with the FA emphasizing the post’s harmful impact on match officials and their families.
