European Leagues and FIFPRO Expand FIFA Legal Complaint to Women’s Football
Posted : 08 September 2026
European Leagues and global players’ union FIFPRO have expanded their legal action against FIFA to include concerns over the governing body’s handling of the women’s game.
The original complaint was submitted to the European Commission in October 2024 by European Leagues, which represents 53 professional leagues and 1,328 clubs across 34 countries.
The organization has called on the European Commission to intervene, arguing that the future structure of women’s professional football should not be decided unilaterally by FIFA.
