Just a day before Paris Saint-Germain's first pre-season match for the 2023/24 season, distressing news surfaced as the team's goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and his wife Alessia were victims of a robbery. The incident left them undressed, injured, and handcuffed. After the burglars departed, the couple managed to free themselves and sought refuge in a nearby hotel, shaken and wounded.
At approximately 03:20 French time, hotel staff attended to the Donnarumma couple's injuries and promptly called the police for assistance. The authorities arrived at the scene, and it was decided that the goalkeeper and his wife needed to receive treatment at the hospital.
The report on Actu17's website described the couple as "in complete shock" upon arriving at the hotel seeking help. The burglars got away with valuables estimated to be worth half a million euros. At this stage, no suspects have been apprehended.
The robbery involved multiple individuals, including those who handcuffed the building's doorman and forcibly entered the Donnarumma's apartment by breaking down the front door.
