WTT Contender: Nigeria's Quadri faces tough opposition

As the highly anticipated World Table Tennis competition in Lusail Doha takes shape, the organizers announced the draws for the tournament on Wednesday.


The top table tennis players in the WTT competition will compete for honors in the tournament scheduled to be held between January 3rd and 5th, 2024.

According to the released draw, Nigeria's table tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri, was handed tough opposition against the Brazilian Hugo Calderano.


Quadri is not unfamiliar with Brazilian internationals, as both players faced each other during one of the tours in 2023.


Avoiding Calderano means Quadri will have to face the World number 11, Fan Zhendong, or the Croatian international Darko Jorgic.


Reaching a respectable round will boost the confidence of the African champion after a disappointing performance towards the end of 2023.
