Roger Federer to Be Inducted into International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2026

Posted : 19 November 2025

Roger Federer is set to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (ITHF) in a ceremony scheduled for August 2026 in Newport, Rhode Island, the ITHF announced on Wednesday.

Federer, who retired in 2022, is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He captured 20 Grand Slam titles, becoming the first male player to reach that milestone, and won 103 career titles. The Swiss star also held the world No. 1 ranking for 237 consecutive weeks between 2004 and 2008 and remained at the top of the ATP rankings for a total of 310 weeks during his career.

Reflecting on the honor, Federer said, “It’s a tremendous privilege to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame and to stand alongside so many of the game’s greatest champions. To be recognized in this way by the sport and by my peers is deeply humbling.”

Throughout his career, Federer shared iconic rivalries with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, forming the legendary “big three” of men’s tennis. The 44-year-old also emphasized his respect for tennis history and the impact of the sport’s past champions, adding, “I look forward to visiting Newport next August to celebrate this special moment with the tennis community.”
