The opening highlight came from rising Czech player Sara Bejlek, who overwhelmed Great Britain’s Sonay Kartal 6‑0, 6‑2 in a one‑sided match to book her place in the next round. Bejlek’s precise ball striking and aggressive baseline play kept her opponent off balance throughout the match.

Another standout performance came from Ekaterina Alexandrova, the Russian veteran, who halted Filipina sensation Alexandra Eala’s impressive run with a straight‑sets quarterfinal victory. Earlier in the day, Alexandra Eala had delivered one of the most talked‑about moments of the tournament by staging a spectacular comeback from a set down and trailing by multiple games to reach the quarterfinals, electrifying the packed Stadium Court with her tenacity.
