Linda Noskova Breaks into WTA Top 10 After Historic Wimbledon Triumph

Posted : 13 July 2026

Czech star Linda Noskova has climbed into the WTA's top 10 for the first time after winning her maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon. The 21-year-old rose five places to a career-high world No. 7 following her memorable victory over compatriot Karolina Muchova in the women's singles final at the All England Club.

Noskova claimed her third WTA singles title and first major championship after defeating Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in an all-Czech final. The victory was especially remarkable as she regrouped after letting five championship points slip away in the second set before recovering to seal the title in the decider. (

The Wimbledon triumph caps an impressive rise for the Czech youngster, who had never previously progressed beyond a Grand Slam quarter-final. Her success also continues Czech tennis' outstanding recent record at Wimbledon, with Noskova becoming the third Czech woman in the past four years to lift the prestigious Venus Rosewater Dish.

Despite finishing runner-up, Muchova also achieved a significant milestone by moving to a career-best ranking after her run to the final. The championship match marked the first all-Czech Wimbledon women's singles final in decades and highlighted the country's continued strength in women's tennis.

At the top of the WTA rankings, Aryna Sabalenka retained the world No. 1 position despite her fourth-round exit at Wimbledon, while Elena Rybakina remained second. American Jessica Pegula climbed to No. 3 after reaching the quarter-finals, and compatriot Coco Gauff rose three places to world No. 4 following her run to the semi-finals.

Noskova's breakthrough victory has established her as one of the brightest young talents in women's tennis, and her rapid rise in the rankings places her among the leading contenders heading into the hard-court season and the year's final Grand Slam.
