Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak produced a career-defining performance on Sunday as he captured his first ATP Tour title at the grass-court event in ’s-Hertogenbosch, defeating world No. 6 Alex de Minaur in a dramatic three-set final.
The world No. 76 secured a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7/5) victory after two hours and 25 minutes of intense tennis, completing a remarkable run in which he also eliminated two top-10 players, including Felix Auger-Aliassime and Daniil Medvedev. The win marked the biggest triumph of his career.
Majchrzak started strongly, breaking early in the opening set and maintaining his advantage to take it 6-3 despite difficult windy conditions. De Minaur responded in the second set, raising his level and capitalising on errors from the Polish player to level the match with a 6-2 win.
The deciding set remained tightly contested, with both players holding serve until Majchrzak earned a crucial break in the seventh game. Although de Minaur immediately fought back, the set ultimately went to a tie-break, where momentum swung repeatedly in a tense finish.
In the decisive moments, Majchrzak seized a quick lead and held his nerve to reach championship point. The match ended when de Minaur committed a double fault, sealing the title for the Pole, who collapsed to the court in celebration after securing his maiden ATP crown.
