Iga Swiatek Reaches National Bank Open Final

Iga Swiatek booked her place in the National Bank Open final after overcoming Elina Svitolina in a hard-fought three-set semifinal in Toronto. The Polish star prevailed 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, securing her first victory over Svitolina in their three meetings during the 2026 season.

Swiatek made a strong start and claimed the opening set, but Svitolina responded impressively to level the match. The Ukrainian then moved ahead with an early break in the deciding set, before Swiatek regained control and won the final four games to complete the comeback.

The victory sends Swiatek into her first WTA final of the season and her first-ever National Bank Open final. She will face Elena Rybakina for the title after the Kazakhstani defeated Coco Gauff in the other semifinal.
