Iga Swiatek Appoints Francisco Roig as New Coach

Iga Świątek has confirmed that she will be working with coach Francisco Roig as she aims to rediscover her best form on the professional tour.

The 24‑year‑old Wimbledon champion made the announcement on social media, welcoming Roig into her team just ahead of the clay‑court swing. The duo will begin working together as Swiatek prepares for upcoming events leading into the French Open.

Roig brings a wealth of experience to the partnership, having spent many years in the coaching staff of Rafael Nadal during his dominant era.

More recently, he had short coaching stints with other top players, including Emma Raducanu and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. Swiatek chose to move on from her previous coach Wim Fissette, a relationship that had yielded three titles including Wimbledon, following an early exit at the Miami Open.

The change comes at a critical moment in Swiatek’s season, as she looks to build momentum on clay after a series of mixed results earlier in the year.

 Roig’s technical and tactical expertise will be put to the test as Swiatek aims to return to the top of her game and contend for more major titles, particularly at Roland Garros.
