Great Britain is set to face Japan in the quarter-finals of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, which will be held in Shenzhen, China, this September. The tournament, scheduled from 16 to 21 September, will feature a knockout format with eight national teams vying for the title.
If Britain advances past Japan, they will meet either the United States or Kazakhstan in the semi-finals. The remaining quarter-final matches will see Italy take on host nation China, while Spain goes up against Ukraine, rounding out the high-stakes opening stage of the competition.
Team GB earned their spot in the finals after a strong showing in The Hague last month, where they defeated both the Netherlands and Germany. Key to their success was the standout doubles performance by Jodie Burrage and Katie Boulter. Each tie in the finals will include two singles matches and one doubles match, all played in a best-of-three tiebreak sets format.
