Estoril Open Returns to ATP Calendar for 2026, Metz Tournament Discontinued

Posted : 04 February 2025

The ATP has unveiled its 2026 season calendar, confirming the return of the Estoril Open to the circuit, while announcing that the Metz tournament will no longer be held. Estoril, which had been a part of the ATP calendar since 2015, was removed for 2025 but will now return as an ATP 250 event scheduled in July, a week after Wimbledon concludes.

The ATP calendar will also see some adjustments in the timing of other tournaments. The Marseille ATP 250, traditionally held in February, will move to October, while the Stockholm ATP 250, which had been in October, will now take place in November.

The 2026 season will feature nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, with seven spanning 12 days, in addition to 16 ATP 500 events and 29 ATP 250 events. This marks a continuation of the ATP’s commitment to offering premium events in iconic cities, according to ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi, who also highlighted the record-breaking attendance of last season and expressed excitement about maintaining this momentum in the upcoming season.

The season will kick off on January 2 with the United Cup, providing players with a few extra days off compared to previous years. The $10 million mixed-team tournament, a collaboration between Tennis Australia and the ATP and WTA tours, began its third edition in December 2025. The ATP Finals will continue to be held in Turin, and the Next Gen ATP Finals will remain in Jeddah for the fourth consecutive year.
