2025 Ikoyi Tennis Masters Thrills Fans as Elite Players Vie for ₦4 Million Prize

The Ikoyi Club 1938 tennis courts are once again the centre of attention as the prestigious 2025 Ikoyi Tennis Masters Tournament unfolds. Reserved for the club’s top performers, the year-end competition brings together the best eight male and eight female players who have excelled throughout the season.

Since the tournament began on December 5th, the atmosphere around the club has been electric, with fans treated to riveting rallies and intense matches.

The event, running until December 13th, offers players not only ranking pride but also a share of the ₦4 million prize purse, with champions set to take home ₦500,000 each—up from ₦300,000 last year. All 16 competitors are guaranteed cash rewards in recognition of their consistent performances.

Chairman of the Tennis Section, Diran Famakinwa, highlighted the value of the partnership with sponsors Megamound, praising their support in enhancing the tournament’s prestige.

Famakinwa described the Masters as “a true celebration of excellence,” emphasizing that the event tests fitness, skill, and mental toughness at the highest level. Defending champions Destiny Da Silva (men’s) and Nene Lawani (women’s) will face ambitious challengers eager to claim the title.

Megamound’s Executive Director, Mrs. Olamide Claud-Ennin, reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to the tournament, commending the club’s professionalism and competitive spirit. As the competition progresses, the 2025 Ikoyi Tennis Masters promises an exciting finish, befitting its status as one of Lagos’ premier club tennis events.
