Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley Set for High-Stakes Grudge Match at AEW Dynasty

Posted : 26 March 2026

The road to AEW Dynasty has intensified following the latest episode of Dynamite on March 25, 2026. All Elite Wrestling officially added a highly anticipated grudge match between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay to the card. The event, scheduled for April 12 in Vancouver, marks the promotion's second major pay-per-view of the year.

The rivalry between the two stars is rooted in a brutal encounter at last year’s Forbidden Door event in London. During that match, Moxley reportedly injured Ospreay’s neck in front of his family, a narrative point that has fueled their animosity for months. On the most recent Dynamite, both men traded chilling promos to remind the audience of the personal stakes involved in this collision.

Moxley delivered his message following an impromptu mixed trios victory over SkyFlight. The former AEW World Champion adopted an ominous tone, making it clear that he intended to finish what he started in London. Shortly after his segment concluded, AEW released the official match graphic, confirming the bout for the Vancouver showcase.

Interestingly, the match is currently billed as a non-title encounter. Despite Moxley holding the Continental Championship, there was no mention of the belt being on the line during the promos or in the official graphic. This suggests the focus remains entirely on the personal vendetta between the "Death Rider" and "The Aerial Assassin."

In addition to the Moxley-Ospreay announcement, the Dynasty card took further shape with the confirmation of the main event. Kenny Omega, having defeated Swerve Strickland in the show's opener, will challenge Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) for the AEW Men’s World Championship. A no-physicality contract signing for the world title match is scheduled for next week’s episode.

With Dynasty less than three weeks away, the promotion is moving at a rapid pace to finalize its biggest matches. Fans expect the technical brilliance of Ospreay to clash violently with Moxley’s brawling style. This match is widely considered a potential "Match of the Year" candidate given their previous chemistry in the ring.
