Verona Gears Up for BMX European Championships with Record Participation

The anticipation mounts as the BMX European Championships draw near, scheduled to take place in Verona, Italy from May 31st to June 2nd. Over the course of three days, athletes from 25 countries will converge at the modern BMX Olympic Arena in Verona, competing across various categories including Elite Men's and Women's, Under 23, Juniors, European Challenge, and Team Time Trial, with a total of 2,130 participants set to vie for victory.

 

Expectations run high as reigning champions and top contenders gear up for the competition. Zoe Claessens of Switzerland, the defending European champion in the Elite category, alongside multi-titled Dutch rider Laura Smulders, are among the standout athletes to watch in the women's field.

 

Meanwhile, Cedric Butti of Switzerland and local favorite Giacomo Fantoni are poised to capture attention in the men's category, promising thrilling displays of BMX prowess.

 

Enthusiasm is palpable as Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme, expresses confidence in the upcoming championships, highlighting Verona's BMX Olympic Arena as an iconic venue for the event.
