Tiger Woods says he will be present for every TGL match, including Jupiter Links GC’s home opener on January 13.
Tiger Woods may not be ready to return to competitive golf, but the 15-time major champion has made it clear that he still plans to remain active in the sport. While fans eagerly await his comeback to the PGA Tour, Woods has confirmed his involvement in the TGL indoor golf league, which combines technology and sport in a new, fast-paced format.
Woods’ team, Jupiter Links GC, is set to open its campaign on January 13 against New York Golf Club. Although the 49-year-old recently underwent his seventh back surgery, he offered an encouraging update on Thursday through a lighthearted exchange on social media.
After Jupiter Links GC posted a message wishing him a speedy recovery and joking that team ambassador Will Lowery was taking care of his clubs, Woods replied: “I’ll be there for every match! Looking forward to seeing everyone on January 13th for our home opener. And Will, hands off my sticks!”
Woods has not competed in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event since the Open Championship in July 2024, but his commitment to TGL suggests he remains closely tied to the sport’s evolving landscape.
The TGL league, co-founded by Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Mike McCarley in partnership with the PGA Tour, wrapped up its debut season earlier this year. Atlanta Drive GC claimed the inaugural SoFi Cup, defeating New York Golf Club in the final.
Although Woods’ return to competitive play remains uncertain, his continued presence in TGL highlights his dedication to growing the game and engaging fans in innovative new ways.
