Super Falcons defender Shukurat Oladipo has signed a contract extension with AS Roma Femminile, committing her future to the Italian champions until 2029.
The 21-year-old earned the new long-term deal after an impressive 2025/26 season, during which she established herself as one of the standout defenders in Serie A Femminile. Roma confirmed the extension on the club's official platforms, underlining their confidence in the Nigerian international.
Oladipo joined the Giallorosse from Nigerian Women's Football League side FC Robo Queens in February 2025. Since arriving in Italy, she has adapted quickly and become a key figure in Roma's defence.
Her performances were recognised with the Serie A Women Best Defender award, while she was also named in the Serie A Women Team of the Season. The accolades reflected her consistency throughout a campaign in which Roma enjoyed domestic success.
The Nigerian defender played an important role as Roma completed a domestic double by winning both the Serie A Femminile title and the Coppa Italia. She featured in 18 league matches, making 15 starts, and the club kept 11 clean sheets in the games she played. Roma also remained unbeaten in every league match in which Oladipo featured.
Across all competitions, Oladipo made 30 appearances and celebrated another career milestone by making her UEFA Women's Champions League debut. Her performances highlighted her rapid development and growing influence within one of Europe's leading women's clubs.
The statistics further demonstrated her defensive quality. In 1,398 league minutes, she recorded 27 interceptions, 27 tackles, 70 clearances and 104 recoveries, helping Roma finish the season with one of the strongest defensive records in the league.
The contract extension comes at an important time for both club and country. With her future secured until 2029, Oladipo can now focus on building on her breakthrough campaign while continuing to establish herself as one of Nigeria's most promising defenders.
The new deal also provides a major boost for the Super Falcons ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Oladipo is expected to play an increasingly important role for Nigeria as the nine-time African champions continue their preparations for the continental tournament.
