Scottie Scheffler Wins PGA Tour Player of the Year for Fourth Consecutive Season

Posted : 15 December 2025

Scottie Scheffler has achieved a rare feat in professional golf, earning the PGA Tour Player of the Year award for the fourth consecutive season.

The 29-year-old American joins Tiger Woods as the only players to win this prestigious accolade for at least four straight years, with Woods holding the record of five consecutive wins between 1999 and 2003.

Scheffler enjoyed a stellar 2025 season, securing six victories, including two major championships—the Open Championship and the PGA Championship. He also posted a tour-best 17 top-10 finishes and impressively did not miss a single cut throughout the year.

His remarkable consistency and high-level performance earned him the Jack Nicklaus Award, voted by PGA Tour members ahead of fellow competitors Ben Griffin, England’s Tommy Fleetwood, and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

PGA Tour Chief Executive Brian Rolapp praised Scheffler, stating, “Scottie's consistent level of success has been nothing short of spectacular as he continues to chase history on the PGA Tour, and we're excited to see what he will deliver in 2026.”

In other PGA Tour honors, South Africa’s Aldrich Potgieter was named Rookie of the Year, receiving the Arnold Palmer Award.

Potgieter was the only rookie this season to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs and was one of five first-year players to claim a tour victory in 2025. He becomes the third South African to earn this distinction, joining Ernie Els (1994) and Trevor Immelman (2006).
