Ross Smith Stuns Gerwyn Price to Win World Series of Darts Finals

England's Ross Smith produced a remarkable comeback to defeat two-time champion Gerwyn Price 11-5 and claim the World Series of Darts Finals title in Amsterdam on Sunday. Smith won the final six legs to secure the biggest title of his career since his 2022 European Championship triumph.

The 37-year-old entered the final as the world No. 14 but matched Price's quality before taking complete control after the match was level at 5-5. Smith's scoring power proved decisive as he hit 11 maximums, compared with five from the Welshman.

Smith also produced crucial finishing at important moments, including back-to-back checkouts of 127 and 123 as he won three consecutive legs after the interval. Price struggled to maintain his earlier level as Smith continued to build his advantage and eventually closed out the victory.

The Englishman had to overcome Josh Rock 10-7 in the quarter-finals before defeating home favourite Gian van Veen 11-8 in the last four. His run earned him the £100,000 winner's prize and a second PDC major title.

Price had reached the final after beating James Wade 10-7 and Jonny Clayton 11-7, but the defeat ended his attempt to win the World Series Finals for a third time. His previous triumphs came in 2020 and 2022.

The tournament also ended Luke Littler's bid to complete a clean sweep of the major PDC titles in 2026. The world No. 1 was beaten 10-4 by Clayton in the quarter-finals after already winning the World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League, World Cup of Darts and World Matchplay this year.

Smith's victory capped a tournament filled with unexpected results and established him as the sixth different winner of the World Series of Darts Finals.
