Rory McIlroy, currently ranked World No. 3 and a two-time champion, will return to compete in the RBC Canadian Open, organizers confirmed on Thursday. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place from June 4-8, 2025, at the north course of TPC Toronto Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario.
McIlroy, 35, has a strong history at the event, having secured victories in 2019 at Hamilton Golf and Country Club and in 2022 at St George’s Golf and Country Club, following the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 tournaments due to the pandemic.
His consistent performance has continued with top-10 finishes in the past two years, making him a fan favorite in Canada.
RBC’s EVP and chief marketing officer, Mary DePaoli, expressed excitement about McIlroy’s return, noting his status as one of the world’s best golfers.
Tournament director Ryan Paul also emphasized the importance of McIlroy’s presence, acknowledging the tremendous support he receives from Canadian golf fans.
