Roman Reigns Brutally Roasts CM Punk on The Tonight Show Ahead of WrestleMania 42 Clash

Posted : 27 March 2026

Roman Reigns has taken his verbal warfare with CM Punk beyond the wrestling ring. During a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, the "Original Tribal Chief" delivered a series of scathing insults aimed at his WrestleMania 42 opponent. The segment highlighted the growing animosity between the two stars as they prepare to headline WWE's biggest event of the year in Las Vegas.

When asked by Fallon about the upcoming title match, Reigns immediately targeted Punk's age. He joked that the World Heavyweight Champion was likely already asleep because the show aired past his "bedtime." Reigns further suggested that if Punk were watching, he would be confused as to why he wasn't the one being interviewed. He punctuated the roast by claiming he is simply a "way bigger star" than the Second City Saint.

This late-night appearance adds another layer to what has become a deeply personal rivalry. The feud took a dark turn weeks ago on Monday Night RAW when Punk referenced Reigns’ late father, the legendary Sika Anoa’i. That comment drew Reigns' cousins, The Usos, into the conflict. Jimmy and Jey Uso have since confronted Punk multiple times to defend their family’s legacy.

On the most recent episode of RAW, tensions reached a breaking point during a physical confrontation. In a surprising twist, Jey Uso appeared to take a leadership role, directing Reigns to "get" Punk. Reigns followed through with a devastating assault, hitting Punk with a Superman Punch and a Spear before powerbombing him through the announce table. Despite the beating, Punk was seen laughing as the show went off the air.

The two veterans are set to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship at Allegiant Stadium. Reigns earned his spot by winning the 2026 Royal Rumble and wasted no time in challenging Punk. Analysts note that this match is about more than just a title; it is a battle for pride and the right to be called the face of the modern era.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 18 and 19 and will feature a stacked card, including Cody Rhodes versus Randy Orton. While Punk has yet to respond to Reigns' latest comments on The Tonight Show, fans expect a rebuttal during the next episode of RAW. The psychological games between the two icons are reaching a fever pitch as the "Showcase of the Immortals" draws closer.
