German Masters Day 3: Robertson Edges Pang, Allen and Trump Progress in Berlin

Posted : 28 January 2026

Day 3 of the World Snooker Tour’s German Masters in Berlin featured thrilling action as some of the sport’s top players battled to reach the later rounds of the ranking event. Competition at the Tempodrom continued to showcase tense frames and high‑quality snooker as the tournament unfolds.

In a closely contested clash, Neil Robertson edged past Pang Junxu 5–4 in an encounter that came down to the final frame. The Australian, a former world number three renowned for his scoring prowess, held his nerve in a tight decider to progress in the event, demonstrating resilience against a dangerous Pang side. The narrow scoreline underscored just how evenly matched the players were on the day.

Earlier in the morning session, Mark Allen recorded a 5–3 victory over Gao Yang, moving confidently through his tie. Allen, a seasoned campaigner on the professional tour, combined tactical discipline with scoring precision to control the match across the session and secure his place in the next round.

The afternoon session saw Judd Trump deliver a composed performance to beat Ryan Day 5–2. Trump, one of the leading figures in the sport and a multiple ranking event winner, dictated much of the match with strong break‑building and sharp safety play. His victory keeps him on course for another deep run in this year’s German Masters. Another match that went down to the wire saw veteran John Higgins defeat Zhou Yuelong 5–4 in an equally dramatic deciding frame.

With these results, Robertson, Allen and Trump all continue their campaigns in one of snooker’s early‑season ranking highlights. The German Masters, now in its 16th consecutive year, draws a top‑class field to Berlin as players chase valuable ranking points and prize money at the Tempodrom.

As the tournament progresses, attention will turn to the next set of ties, with fans eager to see whether any upsets emerge or if the sport’s leading lights maintain their early momentum in the hunt for the Brandon Parker Trophy.
