Riyadh season partners with World Snooker Tour, unveils ambitious growth plans

Posted : 19 April 2024

The draw for the last 32 of the 2024 Cazoo World Championship has been announced, featuring defending champion Luca Brecel facing off against former semi-finalist David Gilbert. The draw ceremony, conducted on BBC Radio Five Live by Rick Edwards and Rachel Burden, saw the 16 seeds randomly matched against the 16 qualifiers, with Brecel set to commence his campaign at 10am on Saturday, April 20th, marking the tournament's opening session.

Meanwhile, Riyadh Season has forged an official partnership with WST (World Snooker Tour) ahead of the upcoming World Snooker Championship weekend. This collaboration underscores Riyadh Season's commitment to supporting snooker by becoming an official partner of the prestigious tournament.

Additionally, Riyadh Season has inked a three-year ambassadorial deal with world number one Ronnie O'Sullivan, aiming to foster snooker's growth in Saudi Arabia and beyond. O'Sullivan's agreement guarantees his participation in all WST events in Saudi Arabia, along with special coaching sessions and engagements to nurture emerging talent.

The inaugural Riyadh Season World Masters of Snooker held last month marked a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia's snooker journey, with O'Sullivan emerging victorious. The event's success has paved the way for its return in the 2024/25 season, featuring the world's top ten players alongside two wild card entries.

Moreover, Riyadh Season's commitment to snooker development includes innovative initiatives like the Riyadh Season ball, offering players the chance to win a doubled prize of $1 million for achieving a 'super maximum' break. These endeavors aim to inspire a new generation of snooker enthusiasts in Saudi Arabia and contribute to the sport's global expansion.
