Plateau Warriors booked their place in the final with a commanding 30-run victory over Plateau Cricket Team. After winning the toss and choosing to bat, the Warriors posted 102 runs in 15 overs before restricting their opponents to 72 runs in 16.5 overs.

Team UNIJOS secured their place in the final after defeating Plateau Young Stars by 37 runs in the tournament opener. UNIJOS scored 89 runs in 17.2 overs, while Plateau Young Stars were bowled out for 56 runs in 14.2 overs.

In the third-place playoff, Plateau Cricket Team defeated Plateau Young Stars after chasing down 79 runs in just 10 overs, having restricted their opponents to 78 runs in 15.1 overs.

The championship match lived up to expectations as Plateau Warriors set a target of 99 runs in 16.1 overs after Team UNIJOS elected to field first. UNIJOS fought hard in reply but finished on 93 runs from their allotted 20 overs, handing the Warriors a memorable six-run triumph.

At the closing ceremony, Chairman of the Plateau State Cricket Association, Stephen Dayok, praised the board members, organisers, and coaches Aliyu Magaji, Tisgir Laitet, and Samson Yerima for their commitment to delivering a successful maiden edition.

Dayok also commended all participating teams and encouraged players to take advantage of the growing opportunities in Nigerian cricket, noting that the sport is now compulsory at both the National Youth Games and the National Sports Festival.

He urged athletes to work towards restoring Plateau State's dominance in cricket within the North Central Zone.

The successful staging of the inaugural Chairman's Cup has raised expectations for an even bigger and more competitive second edition in 2027.

The triumph of the Plateau Warriors underscores the rising potential of local cricket talent within the region. With key stakeholders committing to the long-term growth of the sport, the tournament has set an excellent framework for future developmental competitions. Players and fans alike can look forward to a more vibrant cricketing landscape as regional representation deepens nationwide.
