Pakistan Secure Super Eight Spot as India and South Africa Stay Unbeaten

Day 12 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup delivered decisive outcomes as the group stage neared its conclusion. Pakistan secured the last remaining Super Eight qualification spot with a dominant 102-run victory over Namibia, sealing their progression to the next round in emphatic fashion.

India maintained their flawless run in the tournament with a 17-run win over the Netherlands in Ahmedabad. Posting a strong total of 193/6, powered by Shivam Dube’s explosive 66 off 31 balls, India restricted the Dutch to 176/7. Varun Chakravarthy led the bowling effort with figures of 3/14, ensuring India finished the group stage with a perfect 4-0 record.

South Africa also ended their group campaign unbeaten after defeating the United Arab Emirates by six wickets in New Delhi. The UAE struggled to put up a competitive total, and South Africa chased efficiently to preserve their winning momentum heading into the Super Eight phase. Corbin Bosch and Anrich Nortje were instrumental with the ball, delivering disciplined performances.

With Pakistan becoming the eighth and final team to qualify, the Super Eight lineup is now complete. Attention now shifts to the next phase of the competition, where unbeaten sides India and South Africa will look to extend their dominance, while Pakistan aim to build on their momentum. Discussions have also intensified around long-term qualification pathways linked to future global tournaments, including the 2028 edition.
