All preparations are in place for the second edition of the U17 Lycée Français Louis Pasteur (LFLP) Taekwondo Championship, with over 180 young athletes confirmed to participate.
This marks a remarkable increase in participation compared to the 54 athletes who competed in the inaugural edition.
The event is scheduled to take place at the basketball court of the Lycée Français Louis Pasteur School in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Organized by Body Dynamics, the championship has seen a significant rise in interest and logistical support, with several corporate brands aligning with the vision of the organisers.
The competition, which made its debut in 2024, is officially sanctioned by the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF).
“We are incredibly proud of how far this event has come in just one year,” said Thursdaline Peter, CEO of Body Dynamics. “The excitement and commitment from the kids, parents, and coaches are truly inspiring.”
“This year, we’re introducing official junior and weight classifications in line with global standards, marking a significant step forward in the development of youth Taekwondo in Nigeria.”
The championship aims to build on the success of the first edition by promoting youth development, discipline, and talent discovery across the country.
With growing interest and finalized logistics, the event is steadily establishing itself as a key fixture in Nigeria’s youth Taekwondo calendar.
