The NTT DATA Men’s and Ladies’ Pro-Ams, hosted at Fancourt, will offer a spectacular showcase of professional golf this week. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the men’s tournament is one of the Sunshine Tour’s most prestigious events, with past champions including major winners, Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup players, and former world No 1s.
The event marks a significant transition from the Dimension Data Pro-Am to the rebranded NTT DATA Pro-Am, continuing a legacy that began in 1996 for the men’s competition and 2014 for the ladies’ event.
The men’s tournament will feature Sunshine Tour and HotelPlanner Tour professionals competing for a total prize pool of R7 million, played across The Links, Montagu, and Outeniqua courses from Thursday to Sunday.
Meanwhile, the women’s tournament, with a prize pool of R2.5 million, will take place on Montagu and Outeniqua courses from Friday to Sunday. Both tournaments will have live coverage on SuperSport, allowing golf fans to follow the action closely.
This year’s men’s tournament has attracted a stellar lineup, including Daniel van Tonder, who has already won twice this year on the HotelPlanner Tour, former champions Oliver Bekker and Wilco Nienaber, as well as multiple winners Shaun Norris, Brandon Stone, George Coetzee, and Ryder Cup veteran Jamie Donaldson.
The ladies' event is equally competitive, with past champions such as Kylie Henry, Lee-Anne Pace, Stacy Bregman, and Nobuhle Dlamini, alongside current Sunshine Ladies Tour stars like Cara Gorlei, Gabrielle Venter, and Helen Kreuzer.
In addition to the world-class golfing action, the event places a strong emphasis on global sustainability and community upliftment. Through its partnership with Chedza, the NTT DATA Pro-Am aims to raise funds for solar backpacks and stationery for the underprivileged community in George, with the goal of doubling last year’s donation of 250 backpacks.
Thembeka Ngugi, SVP Marketing at NTT DATA in the Middle East and Africa, expressed excitement about the tournament’s commitment to making a meaningful impact both on and off the course.
