Team Osun’s male handball team staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Team Ondo 22-20 in a thrilling quarter-final encounter at the ongoing NSF Southwest Zonal Elimination Playoffs at Ilaji Games Resort, Oyo State.
The game began with Team Ondo in control, leading 9-7 at halftime. However, a tactical halftime talk from Coach Joshua Aogo ignited a turnaround for Team Osun, who fought back in the second half to secure a crucial victory.
With this win, Team Osun has booked a spot in the semi-finals, where they will face Team Oyo tomorrow, February 26, 2025. A victory in this fixture would guarantee them a qualification slot for the National Sports Festival (NSF) – Gateway Games 2025, set to take place in Ogun State this May.
All eyes will be on Team Osun as they aim to extend their impressive run and secure a place in the national event.
