Confluence Stars of Lokoja produced one of the day's closely fought performances, edging Nasarawa Ambassadors 28-26 after a competitive encounter.
The Lokoja-based side established a slim 12-11 lead at halftime before returning from the break with greater determination to withstand pressure from the Nasarawa side.
Nasarawa Ambassadors, sponsored by Engineer A.A. Sule, pushed hard for a comeback, but Confluence Stars maintained their composure to hold on for victory.
Plateau Vipers were more convincing in their encounter, defeating Nuella Handball Academy's male team 35-22.
The Tin City side took control early, leading 13-10 at halftime before extending their advantage in the second half to complete a comfortable victory.
Unity Boys of Abuja were made to work for their points as they edged Suleja Shooters 37-35 in the day's most closely contested encounter.
The hosts led 20-17 at the interval, but Suleja Shooters remained within touching distance throughout the second half.
Unity Boys, however, held their nerve in the closing stages to secure the two-goal victory.
Nuella Handball Academy enjoyed better fortunes in the women's encounter, defeating City Queens of Suleja 37-24.
The Ilorin-based side went into halftime with a narrow 16-15 advantage before producing a stronger second-half performance to pull clear and seal victory.

Nasarawa Ambassadors fell 26-28 to Confluence Stars after trailing 11-12 at halftime.
Nuella Handball Academy's male team lost 22-35 to Plateau Vipers, having gone into the break trailing 10-13.
Unity Boys defeated Suleja Shooters 37-35 after establishing a 20-17 halftime lead.
In the women's encounter, Nuella Handball Academy defeated City Queens of Suleja 37-24, having held a narrow 16-15 advantage at halftime.
The North-Central Division One Handball League continues on Independence Day, with participating teams set to renew their pursuit of victories and qualification honours in the competition.
