Nigeria’s Stallions Roar Past Ghana to Make Flying Start

Nigeria’s Stallions made an emphatic start to the Africa Men’s Sevens Series in Kampala, Uganda, sweeping aside perennial rivals Ghana 28–5 in their opening fixture.

The Nigerian side set the tone from the opening whistle, combining speed, physicality and aggressive ball movement to keep the Black Eagles under sustained pressure.

Ghana struggled to contain the Stallions’ intensity as Nigeria controlled the pace and territory, eventually turning their early dominance into a commanding points advantage.

The 28–5 victory gives Nigeria valuable momentum ahead of their second group encounter against Morocco at 12:44.

Morocco will be determined to respond after opening their campaign with a 19–12 defeat to Zimbabwe, leaving the North Africans with little margin for error as they look to remain competitive in the group.

For the Stallions, another victory would strengthen their position ahead of their final group assignment against Zimbabwe, who began their campaign with a win over Morocco.

Nigeria’s impressive opening performance has set the stage for another demanding encounter, with the Stallions expected to carry the same intensity into their meeting with Morocco.

Elsewhere, Zambia edged Tunisia 10–7, while hosts Uganda made a strong statement with a comprehensive 38–0 victory over Senegal.

With one victory already secured, the Stallions will now look to maintain their momentum against Morocco and move another step closer to a strong finish in Kampala.
