Nigeria Dominate Togo 3-1 To Remain Unbeaten In African Volleyball Qualifiers

Nigeria's senior men's volleyball team maintained an outstanding unbeaten start at the ongoing 2026 African Nations Cup Zone 3 Qualifiers. The dominant Nigerian squad secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Togo in their third consecutive match of the regional tournament. The intense encounter took place at the packed Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

Coach Taiwo Oladipupo's team demonstrated immense resilience after dropping the second set to an energetic Togolese side. Nigeria comfortably took the opening set 25-17 before Togo fought back strongly to level the game by winning the second set 25-22. However, the Nigerian players quickly regrouped to assert complete dominance over the remainder of the match.

The Nigerians totally regained control of the game during a one-sided third set, cruising effortlessly to a 25-15 victory. They then clinically sealed the maximum match points by taking the decisive fourth set with a clear 25-17 scoreline. This latest victory follows their impressive opening day win against the Niger Republic earlier in the week.

The triumphant result firmly keeps Nigeria at the top of the qualifying standings as they chase a continental ticket. The team remains on track to finish the tournament high and claim a spot at the main 2026 African Nations Cup. The highly competitive regional qualification event in Abidjan will run until July 19.
