NFF Pledges Full Support for Beach Soccer League Finals

NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau has reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League Super Finals

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), has reaffirmed the federation’s full commitment to supporting the upcoming 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Finals and the continued revival of the Supersand Eagles, Nigeria’s national beach soccer team.

Gusau made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the Nigeria Beach Soccer League Management Team, led by National Coordinator Mahmud Hadejia, ahead of the Super League Finals scheduled to take place from 6th to 9th November 2025 at Jabi Lake Park, Abuja.

He emphasized the need for increased public support and awareness of beach soccer, describing it as one of the fastest-growing formats of the game.

“The key thing is for us to give all the support needed and ensure that we are there for the Super Finals,” Gusau stated.
“We also call on all well-meaning Nigerians, especially football lovers and corporate bodies, to support the NBSL Finals. Beach soccer is an exciting game for those who have had the opportunity to watch it at continental and global levels. The last FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles showed Africa’s potential, and we want Nigeria back at that level.”

Gusau reaffirmed the NFF’s determination to restore Nigeria’s prominence in beach soccer after several years of absence from the international stage.

“We thank God that the national beach soccer team is back competing on the continent, though it wasn’t easy. After several years away, the players and officials deserve commendation for coming close to qualifying for last year’s Beach Soccer AFCON,” he said.

He praised the Nigeria Beach Soccer League for maintaining a structured domestic competition over the past five years, noting that its consistency laid the foundation for the Supersand Eagles’ return.

“Three years ago, when we came on board, we decided not to compete internationally until we established a solid structure for selecting players. I’m glad to say we are making progress, and by God’s grace, we’ll continue to move forward,” Gusau added.

The 2025 NBSL Super Finals, now relocated to Abuja’s Jabi Lake Park Sand Arena, will feature top beach soccer clubs competing for the national title. The event will also include a charity and cancer awareness match, featuring celebrities, former footballers, entertainers, and beach soccer legends.
