Nelly Korda Extends Dominance with Riviera Maya Open Win as Cameron Young Claims Cadillac Championship

Posted : 04 May 2026

World No. 1 Nelly Korda continued her exceptional form by securing the Riviera Maya Open title, marking her 18th career LPGA victory and a second consecutive win in as many weeks. The American produced another commanding display to reinforce her dominance on the women’s tour.

Korda’s victory came after a final-round 69, finishing at 17-under 271 to win by four strokes at El Camaleon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The result also saw her break the previous 72-hole tournament record, underlining a remarkable run that now includes three wins in the current season.

Her consistency has placed her alongside legendary company, matching the early-season feat of Annika Sörenstam with six top-two finishes in her opening events. Korda reflected on her success by emphasizing enjoyment and consistency rather than records, crediting her team and steady preparation.

The 27-year-old’s week included just two bogeys, with one coming on the final hole after a wayward tee shot. Despite finding trouble, she recovered well to finish in style, sealing another dominant victory in an already impressive year that includes a major championship win and multiple tour titles.

Elsewhere in men’s golf, Cameron Young delivered a composed performance to win the Cadillac Championship by six strokes, claiming his third PGA Tour title. The World No. 4 finished at 19-under 269 after a four-under 68 in the final round at Trump National Doral.

Young’s victory was notable for his sportsmanship, as he self-reported a penalty after noticing his ball move during play. Despite the setback, he maintained control of the tournament, becoming only the third wire-to-wire winner at the venue.

His consistency across the week, combined with calm decision-making under pressure, ensured a comfortable margin of victory. The American also continues a strong season, adding this title to previous wins and top finishes that have established him as one of the tour’s most in-form players.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler finished second after a strong closing stretch, while several other top contenders followed closely behind in a competitive field shaped by difficult conditions and weather delays.
