NBSL Round Two: Kada BSC maintain momentum, Kebbi Fishers stun champions

The second round of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) got off to an exciting start in Kaduna, with former champions Kada BSC and Kebbi Fishers BSC emerging as the biggest winners on an action-packed Matchday One.

Kada BSC continued their impressive campaign by edging Niger BSC 4-3 in a fiercely contested encounter. Tanko Emmanuel led the charge with a brace, while Dozie Frank and Sani Hassan also got on the scoresheet to secure all three points for the Kaduna-based side.

Despite spirited efforts from Olayinka Joseph, Abraham Jude, and Hassan Abubakar, who all found the net for Niger BSC, Kada held firm to record another important victory and strengthen their position in the competition.

The standout result of the day came from Kebbi Fishers BSC, who sent a strong message to their title rivals with a comprehensive 7-2 demolition of defending champions Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.

Hamza Manga and Sadiqee Umar each scored twice for the three-time champions, while Taiwo Adams, Badmus Fuad, and goalkeeper Nuhu Nuhu added their names to the scoresheet in a remarkable attacking display. Peter Prosper and Patrick Onyebuchi managed the only goals for the Anambra side as they endured a difficult start to Round Two.

Another thrilling contest saw Ibom BSC and Jigawa Golden Stars BSC battle to a 3-3 draw in regulation time. Elijah Eboh, Uwana Ufo, and Aliyu Aliyu scored for Ibom, while Ali Rabiu delivered an outstanding individual performance, netting a hat-trick for Jigawa Golden Stars.

With the scores level at the final whistle, the match was decided by penalties, where Jigawa Golden Stars held their nerve to secure a 3-2 shootout victory and claim the extra point.

The youth tournament also provided plenty of entertainment earlier in the day. Mustard Seed opened with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over El-Cruzero, while Young Brazil defeated Kaduna State University 4-2 in another lively encounter.

With crucial points already on the board and qualification for the Super Four stage at stake, teams will return to action on Saturday aiming to build momentum in what promises to be another exciting round of matches.
