Lottie Woad Leads Star-Studded Group at Women's Scottish Open

The 2026 ISPS HANDA Women's Scottish Open tees off on Thursday at Dundonald Links in Gailes, North Ayrshire, with defending champion Lottie Woad returning to the venue where she launched her professional career.

Tournament organisers have confirmed the opening two rounds' groupings, with Woad paired alongside World No. 1 Nelly Korda and World No. 7 Charley Hull in one of the marquee groups. The trio also played together during last year's event, where Woad claimed the title in her professional debut.

The English golfer is eager to build on that memorable victory and believes returning to familiar surroundings can help her produce another strong performance. Woad said she has learned valuable lessons over the past year and intends to approach the tournament with the mindset of a rookie as she continues her development on the professional circuit.

Another featured group includes former Women's British Open champion Georgia Hall, Solheim Cup Team Europe vice-captain Anne van Dam and American Alison Lee. The trio brings together experienced players looking to strengthen their form ahead of the final stretch of the LPGA season.

Scottish hopes will rest with Gemma Dryburgh, who tees off later in the day alongside Australia's Hannah Green and South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai. Dryburgh will be aiming to make the most of home support as she competes against two established major champions.

Green returns to Dundonald Links for the first time since 2022 and has highlighted the event's personal significance because of her Scottish family roots. The Australian recently celebrated victory at her home national championship and believes lifting the Scottish Open trophy would represent another major milestone in her career.

Former champion Lauren Coughlin also returns looking to reclaim the title. She has been drawn with South Korea's Somi Lee and Japan's Minami Katsu for the opening two rounds as she begins her challenge for another Scottish Open crown.

The tournament also carries extra importance with the Solheim Cup approaching. Team Europe captain Anna Nordqvist arrives in Scotland after recording a top-10 finish at the Amundi Evian Championship and will play alongside England's Mimi Rhodes and leading amateur Kiara Romero.

As the penultimate tournament before Europe's Solheim Cup squad is announced, several players will view this week's event as a final opportunity to impress the captain ahead of team selection.

With many of the world's leading golfers in the field and valuable ranking points available, Dundonald Links is set to host another highly competitive edition of one of the premier events on the women's golfing calendar.
