Leong Jun Hao achieved a significant milestone at the YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2025, overcoming his long-standing losing streak against Li Shi Feng. Having lost all four previous matches without winning a game, the Malaysian No.28 displayed remarkable patience and strategy to secure a 18-21, 21-17, 21-17 victory over the No.6 seed.

 

 Reflecting on the match, Leong credited his success to executing his pre-match plans, particularly in adapting his approach after losing the first game. His emphasis on patience and playing more strokes proved decisive in his breakthrough win against the formidable Li Shi Feng.

Another highlight of the tournament's opening round was the victory of Kang Min Hyuk and Jin Yong over the strong duo Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. The new Korean pairing triumphed in a hard-fought 20-22, 21-19, 21-16 match. Kang revealed that Korea’s doubles partnerships have undergone experimental changes this season, with encouraging outcomes so far.
