Posted : 01 April 2026

Team Kwara continued its impressive run at the ongoing National Para Games Abuja 2026, with the women’s team securing a gold medal in the Class 4–5 sitting event.

The quartet of Taiye Oyinloye, Risikat Ambali, Ajarat Abdulmumeen, and Kudirat Imam Fulani delivered a dominant performance to emerge champions in the team event, further boosting Kwara’s medal tally.

In the men’s doubles Class 1–3 (sitting), Ganiyu Yunusa and Taofiq Azeez advanced to the final after defeating Abia State in the semi-finals. The pair, however, settled for silver after losing in the final.

Kwara also recorded another silver medal in the women’s doubles Class 4–5 (sitting), where Kudirat Imam Fulani teamed up with Ajarat Abdulmumeen to reach the final but fell short of clinching gold.

In the women’s doubles Class 8 event, the duo of Aminat Adisa Iyabo and Abibat Ibrahim secured a bronze medal, adding to the state’s podium finishes.

Meanwhile, in the men’s doubles Class 4–5 (sitting), Tunde Malik and Luqman Adisa Abefe defeated Ondo State in the quarter-finals to reach the semi-finals. The pair, however, lost at that stage, earning a bronze medal.

The collective success of the Para Table Tennis squad underscores Kwara State's commitment to excellence in disability sports at the national level. These podium finishes across various classes demonstrate the depth of talent and preparation within the team as they continue their pursuit of glory in Abuja.
