Knight Frank Explains Business Networking Vision Behind 2026 Golf Classic in Lagos

Posted : 03 November 2026

Knight Frank Nigeria has explained the business objectives behind its decision to host the second edition of the annual Knight Frank Golf Classic at Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos.

The tournament, held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, brought together corporate executives, business partners, clients and golfers for an 18-hole competition. The event provided an opportunity for participants to build professional relationships outside conventional business environments.

The real estate consultancy launched the Golf Classic during its Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2025, marking 60 years of operations in Nigeria. Following the inaugural edition, the company adopted the tournament as an annual event to strengthen its relationships with clients and industry partners.

Knight Frank Nigeria's Senior Partner and Chief Executive Officer, Frank Okosun, said the competition was about more than golf. He explained that the gathering provided an opportunity to appreciate clients and partners who had contributed to the company's growth.

"We are here to enjoy a great day of golf, but more importantly, to celebrate relationships. The Knight Frank Golf Classic brings together our clients, partners, and friends in an environment where we can connect beyond the usual business setting," Okosun said.

The 2026 edition received institutional support from Tatum Bank, which partnered with Knight Frank as a co-sponsor.

Tatum Bank Managing Director, Niyi Adeseun, described the sponsorship as a strategic decision to connect with business leaders and individuals involved in wealth creation.

He highlighted the similarities between golf and banking, particularly the importance of patience, discipline and integrity in achieving long-term success.

"As a commercial bank operating for about 18 months, our sponsorship is a deliberate strategy to connect with visionary wealth creators and leaders. Golf teaches strategic patience and uncompromising integrity, core values that mirror our operations at Tatum Bank," Adeseun said.

The tournament attracted corporate participants from different sectors, creating opportunities for interaction through sporting competition and networking.

One of the participants, Funmi Omo, praised the organisers for creating an environment that encouraged professional connections and enjoyable competition.

She described her experience on the course as exceptional, highlighting the favourable weather conditions and seamless networking opportunities. Omo also expressed interest in participating in future editions.

Beyond corporate networking, the event reflected the growing role of golf in bringing together Nigeria's business community. Its format allowed participants to combine sporting activities with relationship-building in a relaxed setting.

The continuation of the Golf Classic also reinforces Knight Frank Nigeria's commitment to maintaining long-term relationships with clients and partners through activities outside its traditional real estate consultancy services.

With Tatum Bank's support and participation from corporate leaders, the second edition further established the tournament as part of Knight Frank's annual engagement calendar in Nigeria.
