Kebbi Fishers, Kada BSC Make Winning Starts at NBSL Super 4

Three-time champions Kebbi Fishers BSC and 2022 winners Kada BSC made winning starts to the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super 4 Finals on Friday at Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna.

Kebbi Fishers survived a strong challenge from Super 4 debutants Niger BSC before pulling away in the latter stages to secure a 5-2 victory.

Niger BSC matched their more experienced opponents for much of the contest, with the scores level at 2-2 before Kebbi Fishers produced a decisive three-goal burst to take control of the encounter.

Taiwo Adams and Hassan Abdullahi, both two-time World Winners Cup campaigners, were instrumental in the victory, scoring two goals apiece, while captain Ekene Obi completed the scoring for Kebbi Fishers.

Niger BSC’s goals came through Hassan Abubakar and Mustapha Olayinka as the debutants struggled to contain the champions’ late surge.

Kada BSC also had to withstand a determined response from their opponents before securing a 4-2 victory over Ibom BSC in the second fixture.

The Kaduna-based side took command with a 3-0 advantage, but Ibom BSC refused to surrender, with Aliyu Aliyu and Emma Okon scoring to bring their side back into contention.

Kada BSC quickly restored their two-goal cushion and held on to complete a winning opening-day result.

Tanko Emmanuel emerged as the match’s standout scorer with two goals, while Dozie Frank and James Mamman contributed one goal each for Kada.

The opening results have given both Kebbi Fishers and Kada BSC an early advantage as the four teams continue their pursuit of the Super 4 title.

Matchday Two on Saturday will produce another double-header, with Kebbi Fishers BSC facing Ibom BSC before Kada BSC take on Niger BSC.

The Super 4 programme will also feature a women’s football invitational tournament involving four Kaduna-based teams ahead of the beach soccer fixtures.
