Kebbi Fishers Clinch Record Fourth NBSL Crown in Kaduna

Kebbi Fishers BSC capped a dominant campaign with a 5-2 victory over hosts Kada BSC to reclaim the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) title at the 2026 Super 4 Finals in Kaduna.

The Birnin Kebbi-based side entered Sunday’s decisive encounter at Murtala Muhammed Square knowing that victory would guarantee the championship, having won their opening two matches against Niger BSC and Ibom BSC.

They delivered in emphatic fashion, with Hamza Manga producing a four-goal masterclass to lead Kebbi Fishers to their record-extending fourth NBSL league title.

Kebbi Fishers established a three-goal advantage in the second period before Kada responded with two goals to bring themselves back into contention.

The champions, however, regained their composure in the third period, adding two more goals to complete a convincing 5-2 victory.

Manga scored four times for Kebbi Fishers, while Hassan Abdullahi contributed the other goal.

Kada’s two goals were scored by Dozie Frank and Hameed Kareem.

The victory gave Kebbi Fishers a perfect nine points from three matches and confirmed their return to the summit of Nigerian beach soccer after an impressive Super 4 campaign.

Kada BSC finished second with six points, while Niger BSC took third place with three points. Ibom BSC ended the competition without a point.

In the other final-day fixture, Niger BSC defeated Ibom BSC 5-3, with Hassan Abubakar scoring a hat-trick, while Jude Abraham and Hussain Abubakar added one goal each.

Effiong Eyo scored twice for Ibom BSC, with Aliyu Aliyu completing their scoring.

Despite Kada’s defeat in the final, Frank ended the season as the NBSL’s leading scorer with 17 goals, breaking his own record for the highest number of goals scored in a single season.

Frank also secured his fourth top-scorer award in the league’s six-season history.

His Kada teammate, Victor Tale, was named the Most Valuable Player, while Kebbi Fishers goalkeeper Aiki Nuhu received the Best Goalkeeper award.

Niger BSC won the Fair Play Award, while Ibom BSC goalkeeper Gideon John was named Rising Star.

The Super 4 Finals also featured a novelty match between the NBSL All Stars and the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna Chapter, with the All Stars recording a 4-1 victory.

In the women’s beach soccer invitational tournament, Kings Football FA defeated RCCG Great Grace 3-0 in the final to emerge champions.

One Agape FA secured third place after a commanding 6-0 victory over Powerful Queens FA in the bronze-medal match.
