Kebbi Fishers, Anambra Warriors Set for Explosive Nigeria Beach Soccer League Final

Posted : 09 November 2025

The 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) is set for a blockbuster finale after an action-packed semifinal day at Jabi Lake Park, Abuja.

Defending champions Kebbi Fishers BSC and high-flying Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors have booked their spots in Sunday’s grand finale after hard-fought victories in their respective semifinal clashes.

In a pulsating Kebbi Derby, holders Kebbi Fishers came from behind to edge Kebbi United BSC 5–4 in a thrilling nine-goal encounter.

The champions trailed 3–1 midway through the match but displayed remarkable resilience to turn the tide and keep their title defense alive. Hamza Manga led the comeback with a brace, while Yahaya Jibrin, Taiwo Adams, and Hassan Abdullahi also found the net.

For Kebbi United, Umar Sadik was the standout performer with a hat-trick, supported by Umar Aliyu’s goal, but their spirited display fell just short of upsetting the defending champions.

The second semifinal was another spectacle as Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors outclassed Kada BSC, the 2022 champions, with a 4–2 victory.

The Nnewi-based side combined attacking flair with composure, courtesy of goals from Miracle Momoh, Prosper Peter, Ekunjimi Eganosi, and Gabriel Chinweze. Benjamin Bawa and veteran Victor Tale scored for Kada BSC, but it wasn’t enough to stop their second straight defeat of the campaign.

With the results, Kebbi Fishers BSC will battle Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors in what promises to be a thrilling final on Sunday, while Kada BSC face Kebbi United BSC in the third-place playoff.

Earlier in the day, Ibom BSC clinched fifth place with a 3–2 win over Jigawa Golden Stars BSC. Emmanuel Okon netted twice and Uwana Aniete added another for Ibom, while Hamza Bagudu’s brace for Jigawa couldn’t prevent defeat.

The women’s exhibition match also added glamour to the day’s proceedings, as Naija Ratels FC edged Generation Next FA 4–3 on penalties after both teams played out an entertaining 2–2 draw in regulation time.

With the stage now set, all eyes turn to Sunday’s grand finale, as reigning champions Kebbi Fishers chase a fourth NBSL title, while Anambra Warriors seek to make history with their first-ever crown in what promises to be a memorable contest on the sands of Abuja.
