Australian golfer Hannah Green continued her remarkable 2026 form by winning the JM Eagle LA Championship, marking her fourth victory of the year. The triumph adds to an already impressive season in which she has established herself as one of the standout performers on the LPGA Tour.
Green’s latest success came after a tense play-off finish in Los Angeles, where she rolled in a confident 12-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole to seal victory. The win was particularly significant as it marked her third title in four years at this event, further highlighting her strong record in the tournament.
The final round was far from straightforward for Green, who at one stage found herself six shots behind the leaders after Kim Sei-young produced an eagle on the 11th hole. However, Green mounted a determined comeback, stringing together a run of five birdies in six holes to claw her way back into contention alongside Kim and Im Jin-hee.
All three players finished regulation play tied at 17 under par, setting up a dramatic play-off. While Kim narrowly missed a long birdie attempt and Im failed to recover after a costly error, Green capitalised with composure when it mattered most.
Afterwards, Green admitted she had not expected to remain in contention during the middle stages of the round but stayed patient as momentum shifted. She also revealed that her winning putt felt familiar, which helped her stay calm under pressure.
The tournament, hosted at El Caballero for the second consecutive year due to renovations at Wilshire Country Club, also featured a significant increase in prize money, with the total purse rising to $4.75 million. Green’s victory earned her a winner’s share of $712,500.
With this win secured, attention now turns to the Chevron Championship in Texas, the first women’s major of the season, which begins later this week.
