The five-day event, which teed off on Wednesday and concluded on Sunday, attracted over 250 golfers from across Nigeria. Competitors vied for top honours on the lush green fairways of one of the country’s most scenic courses.
Agbo, aged 18, returned a total gross of 246 over three days, overcoming an initial slow start to defeat 45 others in the Ladies Handicap 0–18 category. Her journey to the top was marked by resilience and steady improvement:
“This is one of my best wins,” Agbo said. “I struggled with nerves on the first day, but I regained focus and gave it my all. I’m thankful to God, my coach, and my caddy Emmanuel for their support throughout the tournament. My dream is to become a professional and represent Nigeria globally.”
Her closest challenger, Justina Gideon, posted a total gross of 259 (87, 86, 86) to finish second. Janet Ali also scored 259 (86, 88, 85) but settled for third via countback.
Former leader Rahama Inusa, who opened strongly with 82 gross on Day 1 and led after Day 2 (87 gross), slipped to 4th place after a final round score of 91, totaling 260.
All winners received trophies, medals, and gift packages to mark their achievements.
