The women’s Tour of Britain will make its debut in Scotland this June, with Glasgow set to host the final stage of the 25th edition of the race. The event will consist of four stages, starting with two in the picturesque Yorkshire Moors National Park, followed by a third stage in the Scottish Borders. The race will culminate in Glasgow on June 8, marking a historic conclusion in the heart of the city.
Jonathan Day, Managing Director of British Cycling Events, expressed excitement about bringing world-class teams and riders to Scotland.
He highlighted the challenging nature of the Scottish Borders roads, which promise thrilling racing, and the significance of finishing in Glasgow, a major city that will provide a dynamic backdrop for the final stage. The event will showcase both the competitors' skills and the scenic terrain of the region.
Last year, Belgium's Lotte Kopecky triumphed in the race, which began in north Wales and concluded in Manchester. This year’s Tour promises to bring fresh challenges, with the addition of Scotland’s roads adding an exciting new element to the competition.
