Enugu City International Marathon Unveils Five-Day Expo, Kits Collection Plans Ahead of 2026 Race

With preparations gathering momentum for the 2026 Enugu City International Marathon, organisers have announced a five-day Marathon Expo, Brand Showcase and Kits Collection exercise ahead of the race.

The event, organised by Nilayo Sports Management Limited, will take place from Monday, Aug. 24 to Friday, Aug. 28, at Michael Okpara Square, Independence Layout, Enugu.

The expo will serve as the final pre-race engagement for registered runners, corporate partners, exhibitors and fitness enthusiasts before the international road race scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29.

Activities will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with participants required to present their confirmation email and a valid means of identification to collect their race kits.

Beyond kit distribution, organisers said the venue would be transformed into an interactive sports and lifestyle hub featuring health and wellness brands, sports apparel exhibitors, business networking opportunities and cultural attractions.

According to the organisers, the initiative is aimed at creating an engaging experience for participants while promoting sports business and healthy living.

They also advised runners to complete their registration early and collect their kits during the first few days of the expo to secure their preferred singlet sizes and avoid long queues closer to race day.

The second edition of the Enugu City International Marathon is expected to attract elite and amateur runners from Nigeria and beyond, further strengthening the event's status as one of the country's leading road races.

The Marathon Expo is expected to enhance the overall race experience by bringing together athletes, sponsors and sports enthusiasts ahead of the event, while reinforcing the marathon's growing reputation on the international road racing calendar.
