Eight national teams have secured places at the 2026 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON), completing the qualification process after the decisive second-leg matches played between October 16 and 18. The qualified teams are Senegal, Morocco, Malawi, Ghana, Uganda, Angola, Mozambique and Mauritania.
Senegal have qualified automatically as hosts and defending champions. The remaining seven nations earned their places through a two-round qualification campaign organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Morocco secured qualification with an 11-3 aggregate victory over Libya. Malawi also progressed comfortably, defeating Seychelles 16-3 across two legs to book their third consecutive appearance at the continental championship.
Ghana claimed one of the most significant results of the qualifying round by eliminating Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles. The Black Sharks won the return leg 7-4 in Keta on October 18, securing a 10-7 aggregate victory after the teams drew 3-3 in the first leg in Kaduna. The result ended Nigeria's hopes of reaching the finals and gave Ghana a second consecutive appearance.
Uganda qualified after overcoming Burundi 13-10 on aggregate, returning to the competition for the first time since 2022. Angola advanced after defeating Mauritius in the opening round and overcoming Egypt in the second round, while Mozambique secured their place by eliminating Tanzania.
Mauritania completed the lineup after overturning a first-leg deficit to defeat Côte d'Ivoire over the two legs. The seven successful qualifiers will now join Senegal for the eight-team tournament.
Senegal will enter the tournament as the leading contenders. The Lions of Teranga have won the last five editions, including the 2024 championship in Egypt, and will aim to extend their remarkable run on home sand.
The competition will also determine Africa's representatives at the 2027 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. The two finalists are expected to secure qualification for the global tournament, adding further importance to the race for the African title.
The Confederation of African Football confirmed that the 2026 tournament will take place from November 28 to December 6, following an adjustment to its competition calendar. Senegal will host all eight qualified nations.
