Championship League Snooker Day 6: Group 7 Drama Unfolds as Players Eye Winners’ Group

Posted : 24 January 2026

Day 6 of the 2026 World Snooker Tour Championship League continued on Saturday, January 24, at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena, with Group 7 matches approaching the decisive stage.

The league phase is nearly complete, and the semi-finals and final for Group 7 are scheduled for later in the evening, with the final expected at approximately 7:30 PM UK time. The winner will join earlier group champions in the Winners’ Group, set for February 10–11.

Several key matches on Saturday have kept fans on the edge of their seats. Jack Lisowski secured a 3–1 win over Jak Jones, while Xu Si overcame Ryan Day with the same scoreline. Jak Jones also claimed a narrow 3–2 victory against Zhang Anda, keeping the group standings highly competitive.

Currently, Lisowski leads with four wins from five matches, while Zhang Anda and Xu Si each have three wins from six, making the final rounds crucial for determining who advances.

Earlier rounds have already produced their winners. Group 6 concluded on January 22, with Wu Yize defeating Zhao Xintong 3–1 to earn a place in the Winners’ Group.
In Group 5, defending champion Mark Selby topped the standings, securing his progression to the final stage. Both victories highlight the mix of experienced stars and rising talents battling for a place among the elite.

As Group 7 reaches its climax, the evening matches promise tension and high-quality snooker. The last qualifying spot for the Winners’ Group will be confirmed once the semi-finals and final are completed, setting the stage for the concluding showdown in February where all group winners compete for the Championship League title.
