Casandra Alexander is aiming to strengthen her lead in the Investec Order of Merit as she competes in this week’s SuperSport Ladies Challenge presented by Sun International. Returning to the Gary Player Country Club, where she has previously thrived, Alexander is confident in her ability to perform well.
Having already secured a victory this season at the Jabra Ladies Classic and a runner-up finish at the Standard Bank Ladies Open, she is eager to build on her success in a tournament she won in 2023 and finished second in the previous year.
Excited about the event, Alexander expressed her fondness for the Sun City course, highlighting her familiarity with its layout as a key advantage. Coming off a stretch of tournaments in Cape Town, where she faced dry and windy conditions, she is prepared to adjust her game to suit the softer, rain-affected course this week.
She believes her experience competing internationally gives her an edge, as she and her team are adept at adapting to different playing conditions.
Scottish golfer Lorna McClymont, who finished second in last week’s event, is also looking to continue her impressive form in just her fourth tournament as a professional.
Meanwhile, France’s Lucie Malchirand, who triumphed at the Standard Bank Ladies Open, and Danielle du Toit, winner of the NTT DATA Ladies Pro-Am, will join South African rookie Kaiyuree Moodley in the field, adding further competition to an already strong lineup.
