Bud Cauley produced a stunning final-round performance to win the Canadian Open and secure his first PGA Tour title, completing one of golf’s most inspiring comeback stories. He credited the support of family, friends, and medical staff for helping him return to competitive golf.

He also paid tribute to his wife, acknowledging the difficult journey they endured together during his recovery years. The win, he said, represented not only personal success but also a gesture of gratitude for those who stood by him during his most challenging period.

Starting the final round just one shot behind the leader, Cauley remained patient early on before accelerating on the back nine. His decisive run of birdies shifted the momentum firmly in his favour and ultimately secured a memorable victory.

For Fitzpatrick, the week ended with encouragement despite missing out on the title. The Englishman climbed the leaderboard with a strong final round and highlighted improvements in his putting, which he believes will benefit his game moving forward.
