Brooks Koepka is embracing the rare opportunity to compete in team golf as he partners with Shane Lowry at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the PGA Tour’s only official team event. The pair headline a field of 74 teams competing at TPC Louisiana in a format that alternates between four-ball and foursomes.

Koepka, a five-time major champion, has limited experience in structured team formats but is no stranger to playing alongside familiar faces. Lowry, meanwhile, previously won the event in 2024 alongside Rory McIlroy and brings proven success in this unique competition. With McIlroy skipping this year’s edition, Lowry has teamed up with Koepka after a casual conversation that quickly turned into a confirmed partnership.

Lowry revealed that the idea for the pairing was initially discussed through Koepka’s camp before both players agreed to compete together. Despite appearing like an unusual combination on paper, both believe their games complement each other well, with Koepka’s long iron play and Lowry’s short game expected to form a strong balance.
